What are DX Tags?

DX Tags are 'markers' within your HTML code so that the 'DX blog engine' can position the blog information where you specify - but without having to go into the database design.

 

This obviously opens up the ability for non-developers to create there own blog, but also gives you the opportunity to design your blog 'online' using a browser by uploading and downloading 'template files' that you have edited using your HTML or CSS editor of your choice.

 

The following is an example of what these tags look like in your HTML code:

 

 

DX Tags Reference

I shall explain in more detail how to use the DX Tags when I document the Templates. However you should note that once there is a fair selection of Templates on the site - the knowledge of HTML and the tags is not important unless you want to create your own templates. In the meantime here is a reference of the DX Tags that can be used:

The day the blog was created 1-31 etc

<$BlogDayName$>

The name of the day the blog was created - ie Monday

<$BlogDayDesc$>

The day description - ie st,nd,rd,th - 1st, 2nd, 2rd etc

<$BlogMonth$>

The month the blog was created - ie 1-12

<$BlogMonthName$>

The name of the month the blog was created - ie January

<$BlogYear$>

The year your blog was created - ie 2003

<$BlogAuthor$>

The author of the blog entry

<$BlogCategory$>

The category the blog falls under

<$BlogTime$>
